Why I do what I do
Hi I’m Renata and I help New Zealand companies to unfold the full market potential of their products and services. I’m not originally from New Zealand, but have chosen Auckland as the place I want to call my home. I love this country, its people and am always amazed at the products this relatively small but inventive nation creates. That’s why I want to help New Zealanders create a solid future through their business. I want to see your products succeed, whether at home or overseas, I want to see you generate more business or improve your profitability. Whatever business goal it is you want to achieve – I want to do my bit to help you achieve it, so that we can create a more economically sustainable future for New Zealand together.
A bit about me
I love travelling, the outdoors, cooking, technology, my daughter (anything to do with kids) and international encounters where I can use some of the 5 languages that I speak – Any of these combined with some good food - Amazing! I was born in Poland, but spent most of my life in Germany. I studied international business in Germany, France & Canada, before coming to New Zealand and completing a Master’s degree therein. During and after uni I worked in marketing and sales for several small and big companies and quickly worked my way up to run the no2 product category at Sony NZ. Then I decided that I want to become my own boss. Today I’m working as a freelance marketing consultant who can add value to and take learnings not from only one, but many different companies. What I believe
If there’s something that I’ve learned working in Marketing and Sales over the last 8 years it’s this: it’s not always the best product that is the most successful. But I believe that everyone can be successful, if you listen to what the customer needs, deliver it and communicate it in the right way. I have worked for both small and big companies across various industries. In small companies I saw passion thrive, while big corporates were big on processes. I believe that you need a bit of both to succeed. You need the passion to create great products that consumers want and love, but also the processes to deliver these products to them at the right time, place and price.. I don’t believe in overstating products for short term gain; I like honest marketing that makes the customers trust you for this and many future transactions to come.
How I work
I have quite a pragmatic approach to marketing. I don’t talk big and over promise. I analyse, research, plan and most importantly, deliver. Then I track the results and do adjustments until I find the most efficient mix. I’m hard working, focused and results driven. For me marketing is a system that works, if you put the right mix in place. I like structuring and organising and always keep an eye out for processes that can be made leaner. I’m also an Excel nerd – I think that’s what corporate did to me – which is very handy when it comes to business planning and sales analytics. I also question the status quo - just because something has always been done in some way or in some other market it doesn’t have to be best way of doing it. Our resources are always limited, so I make the best of what is there and if I don’t know how something works, I find out or find someone to help me.

I’ve got a German work ethic, i.e. Very hard working, but hopefully not quite as serious. While I haven’t got decades of experience in consulting, I have gained valuable marketing experience in my previous jobs where I was trained to deliver results, I am creative and always keep up to date with innovative marketing techniques. You will get personalised and responsive service from me and you’ll always know who you’re dealing with. This might not always be the case with bigger agencies.
